Questions arise about the state government's relationship with the Adani Group as Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra raises concerns in Parliament about alleged bribery involving the business conglomerate. The controversy deepened at the West Bengal Global Business Summit when Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee called for tenders from industrial houses other than Adani Group for the development of the Tajpur port.

However, Cabinet Minister Shashi Panja has clarified that ongoing talks with the Adani Group are in progress for the port's development. This has led to speculation about the Chief Minister's intentions and whether the global platform was used to humiliate the Adani Group. Amid conflicting statements, questions also arise about the extent of the group's involvement in the port's development.

In response to the BJP's claim of the Tajpur port project being in limbo due to the Adani Group's supposed exit, Shashi Panja, the state government's Industries, Commerce, and Enterprise Minister, dismisses the allegations as 'false claims.' Panja asserts progress in the project and ongoing talks with the Adani Group.

Despite the contradiction, he emphasizes that there is no hindrance in the discussions, and necessary permissions from the Center have been sought for the port's construction. The Chief Minister's announcement of a tender for the port's construction at the Bengal Global Business Summit had sparked speculations about a potential shift to another industrial group, adding further complexity to the situation.
